| Med Alert was incorporated in 1986 to serve the needs of the community. In 1984, Kate Concannon was a licensed practical nurse a few years out of college and the co-owner of a small nursing agency. She was unhappy with the stories she had heard from her clients in regards to transportation services. Kate opted to take matters in her own hands and went to the state Department of Health to learn about licensing requirements. Kate took her first step into the medical transportation industry by purchasing a wheelchair van. From that point on, Kate has created an enterprise solely dedicated to transporting patients for emergencies and non urgent transports. Med Alert's specialty has been inter facility transferring of critically ill patients. |
